Great room and good location to walk to nearby stores and restaurants. Hotel was nice and clean and the staff was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. The only issue that bothered me was the toilet seat. It looked worn out which made it look not clean. If that was replaced, the room would be great. Besides that, I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, spacious rooms and fantastic bathroom! We stayed in a double queen room (no balcony needed in Feb) and the room was lovely. There was a little sitting area with a couch and desk that made it feel very roomy for our family of 3. The bathroom was gigantic, shower was amazing and I loved having a large vanity for all our stuff. The staff were all lovely, especially Karen, and every time we needed something we were met with friendliness. (I did have to ask for more blankets because their comforters were more like sheets.) They were having a special - get your third night free, which made the stay very affordable. Location is great. I personally would have preferred the option for a free coffee instead of a free happy hour drink but no other complaints. Would highly recommend and be happy to stay there again! (We didn't pay for parking because it seemed $$ and just parked on the street without a problem.)

The location of the hotel is great and the rooms are generally spacious and well appointed but the details are troubling. The phone from the room doesn’t actually connect to an operator. The plug outlets are very difficult to access if you want to use the desk. They charge a $30 amenity fee which includes access to unlimited sparkling water which is nice but then the spout was broken on my floor. All in all there is potential here but needs a bit more attention to details and service.

It is not often I leave a hotel pleasantly surprised, especially at this price point. The rooms at Hotel Madera were spacious and comfortable. The bed and linens felt luxurious. The bathroom was well done, WiFi was seamless. The whole experience felt absolutely thoughtful, and the next time I have a reason to stay near DuPont Circle I will absolutely be staying here again. I couldn't be more pleased.

We were genuinely looking forward to our stay at this hotel, but unfortunately our experience with management left us disappointed before we even arrived. Due to circumstances completely outside of our control, we needed to move our one-night stay up by a single day. There were rooms available, and we were willing to pay any difference in rate—yet management was unwilling or unable to make even this simple adjustment. We felt our request was both reasonable and common in the hospitality industry, where flexibility and empathy often define the guest experience. Instead, we were met with rigid policies and no willingness to work with us, even after explaining our situation clearly and respectfully. While the property itself may be lovely, this lack of understanding and customer care is something we can’t overlook. Based on our experience, we would be hard-pressed to recommend this hotel to others, especially our friends who value responsiveness and compassion from the places they choose to stay.
