We have stayed at several different Mandarin Oriental properties worldwide, and unfortunately this one bears little resemblance to the brand standard — in terms of service, room quality, and overall experience. We stayed for four nights in an Executive Suite and were placed on the first floor, directly facing the main road. The traffic noise in the morning was extreme. We later learned that all Executive Suites are located on the first floor, which means you should expect to be woken up by traffic around 6:30 a.m. daily. Room was not ready even at 16.00, which is one hour after the check-in time. The suite itself felt unfinished and lacked the refinement and detailing we are accustomed to at other Mandarin Oriental properties. The furnishing quality was disappointing, lighting options felt like in an airport with little options to create a cozy atmosphere, and there was not even a full-size mirror in the room. The air conditioning did not function properly. The technician’s solution was simply to turn it off completely rather than fix the issue so we had no AC in the living room for the entire stay. Club level access was an additional USD 100 per night. Food service closes at 7:30 p.m., and drinks stop at 9:00 p.m., which severely limits the value of this offering. There is no dedicated bar in the hotel. The only option is a bar within the Asian restaurant, which closes at 10:00 p.m. If you want a drink after that, you are left sitting in the lobby. Only one star because if you stay at a Mandarin Oriental you have expectations, but overall, this property falls far below what one expects from the Mandarin Oriental brand.

Incredible staff up at the club lounge. Arantza is AMAZING!! So beyond helpful and kind. She treated us as if we were her own family. Diego was also wonderful. Would recommend the hotel based on the club lounge staff and their hospitality. The hotel itself is very nice, but the AC was not as strong as we would have liked.

One of the best hotels with an amazing value! The hotel is big, bright and well decorated (classic with a modern mix), has a very nice atmosphere and an spectacular pool area (only negative point is that the water is toooo cold and no hot-tub), but the area is very nice to have some drinks and smoke a cigar. The rooms are big with plenty of space to eat/work, the shower is great, the beds are soft and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. The service was great, everyone was willing to help and always being very friendly and nice, everyone from concierge was very helpful, but a special thanks to Tomas. It’s also well located, 5/10 minutes car trip to everywhere nice. I would love to come back!

Gorgeous architecture. Room has some wear and tear such that the bathroom door you need to fight to close. Service is professional but not proactive. Pre arrival info not clear in today’s day and age. Dinner Dining is great. Breakfast very disappointing to be honest limited selection and not very good. Breakfast organization also should be improved. I was asked to sign a receipt that shows full price when I was informed that all breakfast was included when getting seated. They then said it’s just for tips (where it takes 5 mins to get milk when I flagged down the waiter 2 times. So I do not think it’s deserved for a very crowded and barely served buffet). Out of courtesy I left 3 dollars and saw a bill for 13 dollars. Feels very disapppointed.

What can I say—our stay at MO was the perfect ending to our two-week trip through Argentina and Chile. This resort truly feels like a little slice of paradise right in the heart of the city. Every detail at this hotel is exceptional. We spent time enjoying the beautiful pool, and every restaurant we tried was fantastic. The room layout was one of my favorite parts—the bed perfectly positioned facing the window, with a cozy seating area to take it all in. And the shower? I could have spent days in it. Even the bath products were a standout. To top it all off, we were welcomed with a bottle of rosé on our first night, which made the experience feel even more special. I’m already looking into other MO locations for our next trip. Easily a 10/10 stay.
